Maplestory is a game that's quite near and dear to my heart, as it made up most of my childhood (as did pokemon, etc.). For my immersion experience, my approach here was to create 2 screens.
Walkthrough and explaination starts at 03:28
Player HUD (heads up display)
I borrowed the layout of the actual maplestory HUD to create this.
Top right: Party members (I can collect them whenever I finish grand objectives and they give me a boost to complete habits/tasks, depending on what I need to accomplish for the week)
Top left: World map (I can bring up my schedule for weekdays and weekends)
Middle: The "game screen" (I can work on my daily habits, my executable tasks, and any content I'm writing). If I ever run out of things to do, I can open up the mission board and pull more ready to start tasks into my workflow. Every day, I aim for "inbox 0", or no more quests to do.
Bottom: The "chat window" (I can bring up friends, mentors, family that I need to chat with or wish happy birthday
End: My areas of competence and exp bar (traits that I am working on, and my progression in life).
